Drink Water

Keeping the body well-hydrated may prevent neck pain and the risk of degenerative disc disease. Practice carrying a bottle throughout the day. Make certain times to specifically drink a full glass of water at that time. For example, drink a full glass of water after brushing teeth or with each meal.

Go Hands-Free

People that cradle a phone in their neck can put additional stress on their neck causing stiffness and pain. As an alternative, a hands-free headset can make a world of difference.

Holding a phone at eye level for texting or browsing can be helpful as well. Looking down for long periods of time can add strain to the cervical spine. It’s important to take breaks as often as possible to stretch and rest the neck.
